Big Sky Behavioral Health Report

In 2020, Big Sky, Montana did not have a single mental health care provider to serve a population of 2,900 (Source: Psychology Today). In an area dominated by seasonal work, extreme weather, and under the pressure of economic growth, Big Sky was ready for a shift in the community approach to mental healthcare. I worked closely with Buz Davis to design a distinct report that uplifted their findings and imagined a Big Sky where folks were able to access a service, regardless of cost. Throughout the report, the use of gradients and a noise overlay signals the mental distortion of untreated behavioral health. These custom graphics and visualizations to give weight to the data and contextualize quantity.
